Giveaway glossary
Every term used on PrizePop drop pages, emails and entry rules — explained briefly and in plain language.
- Confirmed entry
- An entry whose confirmation link was clicked before the window closed. Only these go into the pool.
- Double opt-in
- A two-step confirmation: you enter, then click a link in an email to prove the address is yours. Without the click the entry does not count.
- Draw date
- The published date and time at which the winner of a drop is drawn.
- Drop
- One giveaway round at PrizePop, with a published prize, entry window and draw date.
- Entry window
- The period between opening and closing time in which entries are accepted. Stated in UTC.
- Gift card credit
- A code or account balance for a named shop or platform, delivered to the winner by email.
- No purchase necessary
- Entry costs nothing and does not depend on buying anything, at any stage.
- Operator
- The company responsible for the giveaway and for entry data: Opsio Holding GmbH, Schönefeld, Germany.
- Pool
- All confirmed, eligible entries for one drop at the moment the window closes.
- Random draw
- Selection of one entry from the pool using a cryptographically secure random method, triggered manually by a person.
- Reminder sign-up
- An email subscription that notifies you when a scheduled drop opens. It is not an entry.
- Sponsored drop
- A drop whose prize is funded by a partner. Sponsors receive reach, never entrant address lists.
- Unsubscribe
- A one-click link in every email that stops all further mail to that address.
- UTC
- The reference time used for all PrizePop windows. Local time in Germany is UTC+1 in winter and UTC+2 in summer.
